Grace is like water.
I am a tactile learner. I need to touch or do before I can fully understand.
A few weeks ago I asked my Abba to help me understand His grace.
He told me His grace is like water.
Since then I have spent much of my free time around water. I have sat on many docks, swam in the ocean, kayaked on the lake, and walked slowly through the rain facing the sky.
Here’s some notes I took during that time:
It cleans. It can cool down and warm up. It hydrates. It revives. It helps the process of growth. It brings people together. It can be calm. It can be raging. It is deep and it is wide. It always flows to the deepest part. It is everywhere. It is life. We cannot do without, but need it to survive.
Do you see the parallel?
Abba has created this grace to flow in and out of our lives.
I have noticed this is something we have grown accustomed to.
Sometimes I drive over a bridge never paying attention to the beautiful water below me. Or I speed walk with my head down through a parking lot instead of dancing in the rain. I used to dread showering until our water cut off for five days in Africa. My orange feet and I were so thankful when we finally got water again.
Just like water, we have grown accustomed to grace. We take for granted the favor and love coming from The Almighty.
Grace is a gift.
Grace is something that will never be taken back. It is the reason we are here, alive, and free.
If grace was taken away, where would we be without it?
Think about it.
Always will I be thankful for my Abba’s forever flowing waters of grace.
